Paul O'Connor
This is Seaweed was founded by Paul O'Connor, a marine biologist with over a decade of experience in the seaweed industry. Based at NovaUCD, University College Dublin's innovation campus, the company sits at the intersection of applied marine science and commercial ingredient supply — built by someone who has spent his career studying the resource before selling it.
Sourcing & Process
Wild-harvested, sustainably sourced.
Ireland's 7,500km coastline supports over 500 seaweed species, and we hand-harvest ours from clean, wild Atlantic waters. Every batch is dried below 40°C to protect the bioactive compounds — polysaccharides, minerals, and polyphenols — that make seaweed valuable as an ingredient in the first place.
